Cazes Family Dentistry is the most wonderful place for your teeth!! :-) I have some anxiety surrounding dental work, and they are just so wonderful. Courtney is the best dental hygienist- she is kind and calm; she will slow down if anything becomes too much, and she is so understanding and patient. She’s also really nice to chat to beforehand. Dr. Emma- what can I say about my favorite dentist? Dr. Emma got me over my initial fear when I brought my then 5 year old to her. She was so good with my daughter that when I found out she took adults I felt comfortable confessing that it had been YEARS since I had gone to the dentist. We worked through my anxiety and her positive attitude, kindness, and compassion has kept me coming back consistently over the last two years. I hope you consider Cazes for all your dental needs!

Why Opt for Professional Teeth Whitening?

We’re all unique—factors like age, lifestyle, diet, and medications impact our teeth and gums differently. A whitening product that works for one person may not work for you. Even worse, some store-bought products can harm your gums.

Our professional teeth whitening offers these distinct advantages over off-the-shelf products:

    • Customized to Your Needs: When you visit us for teeth whitening, we discuss your concerns about your teeth’s appearance, your goals for the procedure, and your expectations. After a thorough examination of your teeth and gums, we recommend the best whitening procedure tailored to your desired results and oral health.
    • Performed by Experts: Our dentists are specially trained in teeth whitening products and techniques. They know precisely how to perform the procedure and adhere to all safety protocols to ensure your protection.
    • Dramatic Improvement: We use a prescription-strength bleaching solution that contains the most powerful whitening agents available to whiten your teeth.
    • Immediate Results: Professional teeth whitening can produce exceptional results in as little as one hour.
    • Even Whitening: Over-the-counter whitening products often result in uneven whitening, especially with strips that don’t cover the entire tooth. Our dentists are skilled in ensuring all contours and angles of your teeth are evenly whitened.
    • Increased Comfort: Our whitening process uses a laser to reduce the risk of sensitivity and gum irritation.

Only a qualified dentist can determine the safest and most effective whitening procedure for you. Give us a call!

    Take-Home Whitening Kits

For those who prefer to whiten their teeth at their convenience and in the comfort of their own home, we offer customized take-home whitening kits.

Our at-home whitening kits, unlike store-bought options, gradually lighten enamel over three to four weeks and include:

    • Medical-Strength Whitening Gel: The whitening power of our at-home kits surpasses that of any store-bought product.
    • Customized Dental Trays for Best Results: Unlike the one-size-fits-all trays in store-bought kits, our application trays are custom-made based on models of your actual teeth. They are designed to fit the natural contours and grooves of your teeth, ensuring consistent and complete whitening of the enamel.
    • Expert Dental Guidance: Our dentist will provide instructions on how to use the at-home kit safely and effectively to achieve your desired results.

Try our take-home whitening kits for nearly professional results.

    When to Whiten?

As our dentists will advise, teeth whitening does not alter the appearance of crowns, bridges, veneers, and fillings. Therefore, we recommend whitening first if you will need crowns, fillings, or veneers soon. Our dentists can then match the color of future dental work to your whitened teeth.

Professional teeth whitening can remove stains and discoloration from both the surface and the deeper layers of your teeth.

Why Do Teeth Become Stained or Discolored?

Surface Stains: Our teeth are protected by a layer of enamel made primarily of minerals. Tooth enamel is extremely strong, being the hardest substance in your body.

However, tooth enamel is also porous, containing tiny holes that absorb substances that stain your teeth, such as:

    • Dark-colored beverages like tea, coffee, wine, colas, and fruit juices
    • Dark-colored sauces such as tomato and soy sauce
    • Sugary beverages and foods
    • Brightly colored fruits like berries, cherries, and pomegranates
    • Tobacco products
    • Poor nutrition and oral hygiene will also discolor your teeth.

Deep Stains: Tooth discoloration can also occur in the inner portion of a tooth, the layer just below the enamel. This layer is naturally yellow or grey. As a person ages, the enamel wears away, revealing the underlying color and making teeth appear dull or dingy. Medications, illness, and injury can also discolor the inner portion of your teeth.

    Top Teeth Whitening Varieties

Teeth whitening is an effective method to lighten the natural color of your teeth without resorting to more invasive procedures like veneers. Whether you choose to whiten your teeth at our office or follow the instructions in your take-home kit, you will see results without experiencing lasting sensitivity.

    Professional Whitening Treatment

For most patients, the most effective way to whiten teeth is through a professional in-office treatment. During this procedure, a bleaching solution is applied to the teeth using specially designed trays. Once the trays are in place, a laser is used to gently heat the solution, activating oxygen molecules that penetrate the enamel to remove stains. Laser teeth whitening provides immediate results and may also help reduce the risks of sensitivity and gum irritation.

    Take-Home Teeth Whitening Kit

For patients who prefer to whiten their teeth in the comfort and privacy of their own homes, we offer customized take-home whitening kits. These kits include application trays that are custom-molded to fit the natural contours and grooves of your teeth, ensuring consistent and complete whitening of the enamel. Unlike store-bought kits, our trays are made from models of your actual teeth, reducing the risk of tooth sensitivity and gum irritation. These take-home kits gradually lighten enamel over three to four weeks.

Cost of professional teeth whitening in Long Valley

Teeth whitening treatment performed by dental professionals in the office typically costs between $600 and $1200. A take-home kit offers a more affordable option, still with professional guidance, and may cost around $100 to $600.

Why is there such a significant difference in cost? Let’s examine the pros and cons of in-office whitening, take-home kits, and over-the-counter whitening:

    In-office whitening
    • Performed by experienced dental professionals
    • Highly accurate, significantly reducing gum irritation or lasting sensitivity
    • Utilizes stronger, more effective whitening agents
    • The fastest whitening option available
    Take-home kit
    • Provided under the care and guidance of professionals, offering more effective whitening agents than drugstore brands
    • Achieve noticeably whiter teeth in weeks, not months
    • Custom-made trays are easy to use, minimize the risk of gum irritation, and ensure even application of the whitening agent

    Frequently Asked Questions

Most people can benefit from teeth whitening, but it may not be suitable for everyone. Individuals with certain dental conditions, such as cavities or gum disease, should address these issues before undergoing whitening.

To maintain whitening results, practice good oral hygiene, avoid foods and drinks that stain teeth (such as coffee, tea, and red wine), and consider using touch-up treatments as recommended by your dentist.

The frequency of teeth whitening depends on the method used and individual needs. Professional in-office treatments are typically done once a year, while take-home kits can be used for touch-ups every few months. Over-whitening can cause sensitivity, so it’s important to follow professional recommendations.

Teeth whitening is most effective on extrinsic stains caused by foods, drinks, and smoking. It may be less effective on intrinsic stains, which are deeper and often caused by certain medications or dental trauma. A dentist can evaluate the type of stains and recommend the best treatment.

Yes, when performed or supervised by a dental professional, teeth whitening is safe. Professional treatments use regulated amounts of whitening agents to ensure safety and effectiveness.

When performed correctly, professional teeth whitening does not damage the enamel. The whitening agents used in professional treatments are designed to safely penetrate the enamel and remove stains without causing harm. It’s important to follow your dentist’s guidelines to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the treatment.
